Driver charged with OVI after crashing into Louisville Police cruiser

A motorist has been charged with an OVI, driving with a suspended drivers license and failure to keep an assured cleared distance (ACDA) after crashing into a Louisville (OH) police cruiser early Sunday morning, according to Louisville Police.

Police were on scene of an accident along 62 between Broadway Ave and California Ave when an impaired driver struck and heavily damaged a parked Louisville Police cruiser.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and no officers were injured during the crash.

Officials from the Louisville Police Department want to use this as a reminder to not driver under any sort of impairment. They said, “this could have turned out worse than only damaged property.”
