New Philadelphia man killed in overnight shooting, detective unit investigating

A 22-year-old New Philadelphia man has died after being shot early Friday morning.

New Philadelphia Police Chief Mike Goodwin tells JMN that police responded to the 600 block of 11th Dr NW at 12:05 a.m. Friday morning after reports of shots fire.

After arrival, responding officers located the 22-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he later died.

Chief Goodwin says the investigation in the fatal shooting is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
