A 17-year-old is dead and another is injured after a shooting that took place in the 900 block of Neptune Ave around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to Akron Police.

APD said when they arrived on scene, they located a 17-year-old outside of the residence with multiple gunshot wound, including one to the chest. He was transported to Akron Children’s Hospital where he died from his injuries.

The second victim, also a 17-year-old, was transported to Summa Health with gunshot wounds to the hand and buttocks. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.

Police believe the two victims were targets of a drive-by shooting. They said two unknown male suspects drove by in a white car and began shooting at the victims.
