A 16-year-old girl has died after being shot by the Columbus Police Tuesday evening.
Family members tell NBC4 reporter Lacey Crisp that 16-year-old Makiah Bryant was fatally shot by Columbus Police. They say she called on the cops to help her because girls were outside of her house fighting.

The shooting happened in the 3100 block of Legion Lane, between Chatterton and Refugee roads.
Details remain limited. Columbus Police have not spoken to the media yet but reports say the young girl did have knife.
Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther tweeted the following in response to the fatal shooting:
This afternoon a young woman tragically lost her life. We do not know all of the details. There is body-worn camera footage of the incident. We are working to review it as soon as possible. BCI is on the scene conducting an independent investigation . . .
