Suspect in murder of Massillon man turns himself in; second suspect remains at large

One of the two suspects in the murder of 27-year-old Devon Meredith of Massillon has turned himself in, according to Canton Police Lt. Dennis Garren.

Robert L. Torrence II, 29, who has been charged with Murder in the shooting death of Meredith turned himself into Wednesday morning. Police are still searching for Thomas Humphrey, 48, of Blair Place SW.

Canton Police say they were dispatched to a home in the 1400 block of 6th St. in Canton for a reported assault Monday afternoon. When they arrived to the home, they found Meredith dead with a gunshot to the head.

Humphrey is wanted for complicity to murder.

Police are asking anyone with information about Humphrey’s whereabouts or information about the shooting to call detectives at 330-489-3144.
