Man killed in single-vehicle crash in Tuscarawas County; driver identified

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle that occurred Friday afternoon that left one person dead. It happened that occurred on County Road 22 (Frys Valley Road).

Officials say John J. Myers, age 42 of Port Washington, was traveling eastbound on County Road 22 in a 1993 Lexus SC when his vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck a ditch. The car overturned and ejected Myers was ejected. He was flown to Akron General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say the seatbelt was not in use and they are unsure if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the crash.
