The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s responded to a Tuesday morning call that a body had been discovered in Goshen Township.

While the cause and manner of death is not currently known, foul play is suspected.

According to a news release, the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 6:37 a.m., reporting that a body had been lying along White Bridge Road (off of SR-416 at the base of Seven-Mile Drive). The caller, who had just left home to go to work, noticed the body partially wrapped in plastic and called the county Sheriff’s Office.

The release stated the unidentified victim as a female, possibly Bi-racial or Black, heavyset, with dark curly hair (pulled in a ponytail), and an unspecified surgical scar.

Deputies, detectives, New Philadelphia and Dover fire departments, and Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office personnel responded to the scene. The body was taken into custody of the Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office and transported for an autopsy by the order of the Coroner, Dr. Jeff Cameron.

Those why may know someone that fits the description may call the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office at (330) 339-2000.
