The Canton Police Department is investigating the homicide of a 26-year-old woman Wednesday evening.
Chief Jack Angelo said his department was dispatched to an apartment in the 500 block of 11 St. N.W. in reference to a requested welfare check. When they arrived, officers entered the residence and located a female laying unresponsive on the floor.
Police requested the Stark County Coroner’s office who declared the victim dead.
The victim was identified as 26-year-old Tiara Burch of Canton.
The cause of death has not been determined at this time.
