Joe Fischer threw six hitless innings in Strasburg’s Tuesday night win over Central Catholic at Franklin Park.
Fischer also struck out seven batters in the victory, which boosted the Tigers to 1-3 (1-2 IVC).
Fischer also hit a single and a double for the Strasburg offense, while Mathew Cox, Hunter McKenzie, and Drake Reifenschneider each added a pair of singles.
The Strasburg victory was Mike Becker’s 100th head coaching win with the program.
GARAWAY 4, COSHOCTON 3
Garaway picked up a road win at Coshocton on Tuesday.
Brady Roden earned the win in a five-inning performance for the Pirates (4-1), while Preston Miller went two innings to earn the save.
Alexander Roden had a single and a double for three RBIs, while Zach Misko slapped a pair of hits for Garaway.

The Dover Crimson Tornadoes edged Ridgewood on Tuesday in West Lafayette.
The two teams were tied at 1-1 into the top of the 7th inning when Dover scored the go-ahead run on a passed ball with two outs.

Hornets right-hander Trevor Deutschman threw a complete-game shutout in East Canton’s Tuesday win at Malvern.
Deutschman scattered six hits through seven innings while striking out four in the victory.
For the E.C. offense, Olly Schrader and Jeremiah Kandel each notched a pair of singles, while Malvern (2-4) was led by Tristan Phillips’ pair of singles.

Breeli Faiello roped a walk-off double to earn the Lady Cardinals a close win over Ridgewood on Tuesday night in Magnolia.
Faiello led Sandy Valley with two hits, while Peyton Nicholson stole three of the Cardinals’ total of six stolen bases for the contest.
On the mound for Sandy, McKenna Burk allowed three hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five.
For the Lady Generals, Ava Kulbacki allowed three runs on six hits through 6 and 1/3 innings, while striking out four.
STRASBURG 9, NEWCOMERSTOWN 1
Strasburg improved to 6-1 after a Tuesday night victory over Newcomerstown.
The Tigers dropped seven runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to down the Trojans.
Emma Gilkerson led Strasburg with two doubles, while Amelia Spidell added a double and 2 RBIs.
Spidell allowed just one run on five hits and 11 strikeouts in the pitching win.
TUSCARAWAS CENTRAL CATHOLIC 15, BUCKEYE TRAIL 3
Tuscarawas Central Catholic earned a mercy-rule victory in five innings over Buckeye Trail on Tuesday.
Jordyn Caldwell roped a grand slam and finished the game with 6 RBIs for the Saints.
Maddie Ferrell (3 singles, 4 RBIs) and Megan Peltz (double, triple, RBI) also contributed to the Central offensive output.
Ferrell also dominated on the mound, allowing zero runs on one hit while striking out four in three innings.

East Canton won a road matchup with Malvern on Tuesday.
The visiting Hornets improved to 1-4.

Indian Valley topped Tusky Valley in a Tuesday night affair.
The Braves advanced to 6-1 (4-0 IVC), while the Trojans fall to 5-1 (5-1 IVC).

Host Sandy Valley won a four-team meet in Magnolia on Tuesday.
For Strasburg, Carter Pratt earned a first-place finish in the 1600, while Parker Edwards and Eli Fierbaugh finished first and third, respectively, in the high jump event.

Salem bested Carrollton in a Tuesday night track meet.
One of the Warriors’ top performers was Nate Baker, who won the 100-meter dash with an 11.3-second finish. Baker also won the 200 (23.3), and the anchored the winning 4×100 (45.9).
Denis Linhart also won the 800 with a 2:19 finish for Carrollton.
