ALLIANCE, Ohio (JMN Sports) – Mount Union announced on Monday it would be dedicating its football stadium as ‘Kehres Stadium’ on June 11, after former head football coach Larry Kehres.

Kehres, who won 11 NCAA Division III Championships with the Purple Raiders program from 1986 to 2013, was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
Kehres also worked as the university’s athletic director before stepping down in 2020, and also worked as an associate professor of physical education.
The Larry and Linda Kehres Plaza will also be constructed on the southwest corner of the stadium, while the Larry T. Kehres Endowment for Football is being started by the university.
