The dates for Ohio’s annual sales tax-free weekend have been set.

The tax-free weekend will take place Friday, Aug. 5 from 12 a.m. to Sunday, Aug. 7 at 11:59 p.m.

During the tax-free weekend, certain items are exempt from being taxed.

Items that will not be taxed include:

  • An item of clothing priced at $75 or less
  • An item of school supplies priced at $20 or less
  • An item of school instructional material priced at $20 or less.

The purpose of the tax-free weekend is for families to purchase school supplies and back-to-school clothes before returning to the classroom.
