Canton South will play Claymont in the Wildcats’ Week 2 football home opener after a schedule change.
South was originally slated to play Columbus Eastmoor Academy this Saturday at 7 p.m., but an ongoing teacher and staff strike in the Columbus City School District left Eastmoor unable to commit to their previously scheduled contest.
The Mustangs, meanwhile, were supposed to face off with Cleveland East Tech, but the game was canceled and left Claymont with a Week 2 opponent. The game will remain set for Saturday at 7 p.m. at Brechbuhler Stadium.
Claymont is 0-1 following their 36-18 home opener loss to Harrison Central, while Canton South also lost their season opener at St. Clairsville, 48-34.
