An area game will have a special theme to it Friday night to honor a West Branch student.

Early Sunday morning, Grace Leask, a sophomore cheerleader for West Branch, was involved in a car accident at the intersection of Paris and State St (173) in Nimishillen Township.

Grace, 15, sustained multiple skull and jaw fractures and remains on a ventilator in intensive care at Cleveland MetroHealth Center, according to her family.

The West Branch Warriors and the Marlington Dukes will be playing Dukes Stadium in Lexington Township and the theme of the game will be a “Pink Out.” Shirts were sold and fans from both communities are expected to wear pink to Friday night’s game.

According to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident happened when a vehicle blew through a stop sign and t-boned the vehicle that Grace, her sister and three other friends were in. The driver accused of causing the wreck was cited for failing to yield at a stop sign.
