A 69-year-old man from Baltic was killed Tuesday morning in a crash involving a bicycle in Holmes County.
According to the New Philadelphia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Maynard Beachy 54, of Sugarcreek, was traveling north on State Route 93 in Baltic in a tractor-trailer.
Beachy attempted to pass a bicycle pulling a cart heading north as well operated by Raymond B. Troyer, 69 of Baltic, by going left of center. The tractor -trailer and the bicycle made contact.
Troyes was pronounced dead at the scene. Beachy was not injured.
Alcohol and or drug use is not suspected in the crash, which remains under investigation.
