Six killed in Tuscarawas County fire, including four children

Fire officials continue to investigate an early morning Newcomerstown fire that claimed the lives of six people Monday.

The Newcomerstown Fire Department was first dispatched to the home around 1:30 A.M. for reports of a fully involved structure fire.

Officials confirmed to JMN that six family members were removed from a home on Spaulding Ave.

Two parents, Leroy and Terrin Elliot, and their four daughters, aAddison, Alyssa, Abigail, Aerial, died in the fire, according to a person close to the family.

The children’s ages ranged from 5-13.

“They were the most loving people you’d ever meet, they loved hard and loved everyone no matter what,” a family member said. “We’re very lost at the moment. The family will definitely never be the same without those beautiful girls, and their parents.”

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. the State Fire Marshal’s Office is assisting with the investigation.
