A 23-year-old Canton man died as a result of a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Kyle Gill and Tyler Scullion were heading north on Sandy Ave at state route 43 when their vehicle, a 2003 Chevy Blazer, traveled off the left side of the road and struck two guardrails.

Both occupants of the vehicle were ejected from the Blazer. Gill, 23, was found about 75 feet away from the vehicle with fatal injuries.

Scullion, 25, of Canton was found laying near the vehicle with serious injuries. He was transported to Aultman Hospital by Canton Township EMS, according to patrol.

Neither man was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol is a suspected factor of the crash, patrol said. It’s unclear who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash, which remains under investigation.
