Victim in Canton shooting dies two days later; charges to be amended

A husband and wife who are facing attempted murder charges may be facing more serious charges after the victim died Friday.

According to the Canton Police Department, Melvin Stevenson, 36, of Canton, was shot multiple times in the head and body and died from his injuries.

Police said Errol Frank, 29, shot Stevenson multiple times Wednesday in the 800 block of Rowland Ave. N.E. Stevenson later died of his injuries, according to Canton Police.

Frank was arrested for Attempted for Attempted Murder the day of the shooting. His wife, Tricia Stevenson-Frank, was arrested for Obstructing Justice.

According to court records, Tricia Stevenson-Frank is the ex-wife is of the victim.

The Stark County Prosecutor’s Office is expected to up the charges to murder.
