The United Lady Eagles moved to 8-2 on the season with a Saturday afternoon victory over the East Palestine Bulldogs.
United pitcher Tori Firth struck out 16 batters on the day and recorded one RBI herself on a sacrifice fly.
Neither team scored runs in the first inning, but the Eagles busted the game wide open in the bottom of the second thanks to a Grace Coffee homerun.
United freshman Josie Vargo and senior Taylor Cope both drew walks to get on base. With no outs, Coffee stepped up to the plate and blasted a pitch over the left field fence for a three-run shot to put the Lady Eagles ahead 3-0.
