Two suspects have been charged with aggravated robbery after a home invasion on Thursday afternoon, according to information from the Akron Police Department.
At around 3:20 p.m., officers were called to a residence on the 1000 block of Joy Avenue.
The 74-year-old homeowner reported that two masked suspects, one armed with a handgun, had entered his home and threatened to shoot him while demanding property. Despite their threats, the suspects left without taking anything.
After searching the area, officers located two teens, 19-year-old Damarcus McCall and a 16-year-old male who were taken into custody after trying to flee the scene. The younger teen was found to be carrying a handgun with an extended magazine which he ditched before being arrested. A third suspect managed to escape and is still at large.
McCall and the 16-year-old have both been charged with aggravated robbery.
The 16-year-old was also charged with carrying concealed weapons and obstructing official business.
Both suspects were transported to the Summit County Jail and the Juvenile Detention Facility, respectively.
