Officials urgently evacuate Country Fest due to severe weather threat

Thousands of concert-goers were urgently evacuated from the concert area at Country Fest Thursday evening.

According to the North Lawrence Fire Department, the venue was evacuated as storms began to roll in. Those in attendance were told to seek shelter.

The concert, which is at Clay’s Park Jellystone Resort, was initially postponed for 30 minutes. It was announced the venue would re-open at 11:15 pm. and Kane Brown would begin his set at 11:45 p.m. Just 10 minutes after the venue reopened, lightning struck against the Country Fest posted to social media saying Brown was unable to perform Thursday night.

Many are without power throughout NE Ohio due to the storms.
