David Edward Martinez, a 32-year-old resident of 101 South Market Street, Apt. 1 in Minerva, has been indicted on serious charges including Felonious Assault, Kidnapping, and Abduction. The charges stem from an alleged incident that took place on June 1.
According to the Carroll County grand jury indictment, Martinez is accused of assaulting a Minerva man using a metal pipe and subsequently restraining him against his will. Martinez then allegedly made the victim drive him to the Akron area, where the victim remained held against his will.
The victim managed to contact the authorities, leading to the charges against Martinez.
Martinez is also facing similar charges in Summit County.
No arraignment date has been set yet.
