Strasburg-Franklin Schools has announced the hiring of a boys basketball coach for the second time in a month for the upcoming season.

Phil Shori has been named the new head coach of Strasburg-Franklin High School’s boys varsity basketball team, news that was first reported by Mitch Spinell of Big Time Sports Ohio.

Big Time Sports Ohio reports that Green did not respond to them for comment about his resignation.

Shori replaces Shawn Green who was named the new head coach for the Tigers last month, leaving Minerva after nine seasons. Strasburg-Franklin’s board of education accepted Green’s resignation at Wednesday night’s board meeting.

Shori is a 2015 graduate of North Canton Hoover High School.

“Phil Shori comes to us highly recommended,” Strasburg Athletic Director Gary Spinell told Big Time Sports Ohio. “We look forward to him leading our student athletes on the court and in the classroom.”

From 2020 to 2022, Shori was the head coach of East Clinton, where he led the Astros to their first winning season in nearly a decade with a 12-9 mark during the 2020-21 campaign.
