The Canton Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that left a 32-year-old man dead.
According to Canton Police Chief John Gabbard, officers were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of Gobel Ave NE for reports of a man who had been shot early Monday morning. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a male victim inside the home with a gunshot wound to his chest
The man, identified as Cody Maurice Ingram, 32, of Canton, was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital where he died from his injuries a short time later.
Sources tell JMN that Ingram’s girlfriend, who we are choosing not to name at this time due to charges not being filed, was the alleged shooter.
It’s unclear what led up to the shooting.
