Little Learners, a local day care center located on 13th St in Canton, was subjected to a false bomb threat Wednesday afternoon.

The center received a call indicating the presence of a bomb on its premises, prompting action from local authorities and the evacuation of children and staff.

According to Major CJ Stantz of the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, an investigation is currently underway to identify the source of the phone call. Law enforcement agencies are actively working to trace the origin of the call and determine the responsible party.

Major Stantz emphasized the seriousness with which such threats are taken, stating, “We take all threats seriously and wanted to make sure it wasn’t a legitimate bomb.”

Upon receiving the threat, Little Learners promptly implemented their emergency procedures, evacuating all children and staff from the premises. No children were in any danger throughout the incident, according to Major Stantz.

The Canton Police Department assisted with the initial response.

Updates on the investigation will be provided as new information emerges.
