Two Tuscarawas County residents killed in motorcycle accident on SR 800; victims identified

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on State Route 800 in Dover Township, Tuscarawas County.

The incident, which took place on the evening of October 8, resulted in the untimely deaths of Cory M. Herron, 42, and Michelle L. Orr, 43, both residents of Dover, Ohio.

According to preliminary reports, Herron was operating a 2003 Harley Davidson Softail Deuce, traveling northbound along State Route 800. The motorcycle failed to navigate a curve, causing it to veer off the right side of the road, subsequently colliding with a guardrail. Herron and Orr, who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle, were pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Responding to the incident were various local authorities, including the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office, Dover Police Department, Dover Fire Department/EMS, Smith Ambulance, Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office, and Chad’s Towing.

The crash remains under investigation.
