A 21-year-old woman is in the Stark County jail following a fight that resulted in another young lady being shot.

According to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a house in the 2900 block of 15th St. for reports of a shooting that happened early Sunday morning around 2 a.m.

A fight broke out inside the home, according to witnesses. They say that’s when a woman retreated to a nearby vehicle, retrieved a gun, and allegedly shot the other woman outside on the patio.

According to officials, the woman was life-flighted to Akron General for a gunshot wound to the face. The current condition of the woman who was shot is unknown.

Deputies later arrested Grace N. DeWalt, 21, of North Canton. She’s been charged with Felonious Assault.
