Carrollton High School student killed in house fire; officials investigating

The Carrollton Fire Department is investigating a fire that left an 18-year-old dead late Saturday night, according to Fire Chief Shane Thomas.

Crews were dispatched to a home on Andora Rd for reports of a fire at 11:47 pm Saturday night. When they arrived, the house was engulfed in flames.

Upon entry of the home, Aidan McNutt, 18, was located. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Thomas said.

Thomas said McNutt was a senior at Carrollton High School and a member of both the wrestling and track teams.

A woman inside the home sustained injuries to her hand.

The cause of the fire was determined to be from a wood burner.
