66-year-old Michael Bennett of Canton found himself at the center of a shooting early Monday morning. Bennett was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after sustaining four gunshot wounds in his apartment on 5th Street SW at Shorb Avenue.
The suspect shot Bennett multiple times, striking him in the chest/stomach area and also injuring his hand. The victim’s brother was there at the time of the shooting, but says he did not see what happened, according to the police report.
While no suspects have yet been identified, detectives are diligently pursuing leads in hopes of swiftly bringing the perpetrator to justice.
