Last year, the Carrollton girls basketball season ended in the district semifinals to the John Glenn Muskies. This season, the two teams faced off again Wednesday night in the district semifinals and was on course to see the same result.
Carrollton trailed the whole game…that is until the three-minute mark in the fourth quarter when sophomore Kylie Ujcich scored six straight.
With 4:01 left in regulation and down five, Ujcich drained a three-pointer to cut John Glenn’s lead to 50-48. She was fouled :40 later, split a pair of free throws to cut the deficit to 50-49. It was only fitting that Ujcich scored on a fast break to give the Lady Warriors the lead, their first of the game with a tick under 3:00 left in the game. The Lady Warriors won the game 60-54.
At one point, Carrollton trailed by 10 in the fourth quarter.
