A 20-year-old woman is dead after Canton Police say she was shot and killed Sunday evening by a 21-year-old man.
Canton Police Chief John Gabbard said that officers were dispatched to 1634 10th St NE for reports on a shooting. When they entered the residence, they located the victim, identified as 20-year-old Jalyn Dempsey, deceased on the second-floor bedroom.
Officers also located Lamarre Elder, 21, who they say suffered a fatal self-inflicted gunshot round. Detectives are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.
