A school bus from the Marlington School District was rear-ended Tuesday morning while on its Lexington Elementary route on Sawburg Ave in Alliance.

According to Marlington Local Superintendent Dan Swisher, there were four students on the bus at the time of the incident. Each student was evaluated on the scene by emergency medical services.

District officials communicated with the families of the students, and all students were transported to school by another district bus. Swisher noted that both the driver and bus aide were evaluated and released.

“The safety and well-being of our students is of the utmost importance,” Swisher said.

The Alliance Fire Department, Alliance Police Department, and the Stark County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. No further details were immediately available.
