Carrollton 2018 graduate to be recommended as next girls basketball coach

The Carrollton Athletic Committee has announced the recommendation of Mikayla Poole to Carrollton’s Board of Education for the position of Head Girls Basketball Coach of the Carrollton Warriors following the resignation of Nik Schweikert.

Poole’s candidacy will be presented at the upcoming board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 11th.

A 2018 graduate of CHS, Poole boasts an impressive athletic and academic background. During her time at CHS, she earned four varsity letters in Girls Basketball and three varsity letters in Girls Volleyball. As a Sophomore, she was a starter on the 2016 Girls Basketball team that clinched a District Championship for the first time in program history.

Following her high school career, Poole pursued her passion for basketball at Malone University, where she played for four years on the Women’s Basketball team. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Childhood Education, specializing in Social Studies and Language Arts.

For the past two years, Poole has been serving as a teacher and the Girls Varsity Assistant Coach at Hiland High School. The time has won an impressive 47 games during those two seasons.
