18-year-old in custody following Stark County shooting

An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on Tuesday, June 18, according to the Stark County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of 42nd St NW and Sandborn Ave NW in Plain Township at approximately 6:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found that two residences had been hit by bullets. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Following a thorough investigation, Gavin Anthony, 18, was arrested shortly after the incident. He faces multiple charges, including two counts of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation, one count of having weapons while under disability, one count of receiving stolen property, and one count of discharging a firearm on or near prohibited premises. Anthony was taken into custody without incident and is currently held at the Stark County Jail.
