A 50+ year career in American politics will soon be coming to an end for Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States of America.

“While it has been my intention to seek reelection, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as president for the remainder of my term,” read a statement posted to Twitter.

Many people around the country, on both sides of the aisle, have called for the President to step down or drop out of the 2024 race.

President Biden then posted to X that Kamala Harris has his endorsement to be the party’s nominee to replace him.

Many names have been floated around to replace Biden on the ticket. The obvious choice would be his Vice President, Kamala Harris, who is the first woman VP.

Other names on the list include former First Lady Michelle Obama, who has previously showed no interest in running for political office. Hillary Clinton has also been a name in the conversation, although many people feel her political career is over.
