Two men wanted for their alleged involvement in a fatal shooting in Franklin County earlier this month were arrested Thursday morning in Uniontown, authorities said.

The U.S. Marshals-led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) took Santiago Miguel Ramirez Ogando, 24, and Juan Carlos Rivera, 24, into custody at a hotel in the 1600 block of Corporate Woods Parkway, officials confirmed. Both men were wanted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service for complicity to commit murder and felonious assault.

According to investigators, the two men were involved in a shooting incident on Aug. 8 near an autobody shop in the 4000 block of Broad Street in Franklin Township.

Ogando and Rivera are currently being held at the Summit County Jail pending extradition to Franklin County. Authorities noted that Ogando, an undocumented non-citizen, may face additional charges.
