The Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Stark County.

At approximately 1:05 p.m. on September 18, 53-year-old Dennis O. Warne of Minerva was operating a black 2023 Indian Scout motorcycle southbound on Beechwood Avenue, just north of Georgetown Street in Washington Township, when the motorcycle veered off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail.

Warne was pronounced dead at the scene by the Stark County Coroner’s Office due to injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities confirmed that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

Washington Township Fire and EMS, along with K&D Towing, assisted at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
