A Norwayne Local Schools student was killed in a car crash Friday, leaving the community in mourning.
According to the Village of Creston Police Department, five students from Norwayne High School and Middle School were involved in the crash. One of the students died from their injuries, while the other four sustained non-fatal injuries.
In response to the tragedy, Norwayne Local Schools canceled Friday night’s homecoming football game against the Chippewa Chipps. Chippewa Local Schools also expressed their support in a statement on social media, saying, “Our hearts are with the Norwayne Local Schools community.”
Authorities have not yet released further details about the accident.
