Suspect uses stolen forklift to steal North Canton ATM

The North Canton Police Department is investigating a theft involving the use of a stolen forklift to steal an ATM early Tuesday morning.

At 4:03 a.m., police received a report from Fifth Third Bank security about the theft of an ATM from the bank’s location at 1637 N. Main St. Officers arrived on the scene to find the forklift abandoned behind the bank, along with debris from the damaged ATM.

The value of the ATM and its contents has not yet been determined.

Authorities later confirmed that the forklift used in the theft had been stolen from a construction site at Wendy’s Restaurant, located in the 200 block of Applegrove St. NW.

The incident remains under investigation.
