The Ohio Prep Sports Media Association announced the Division VI and VII football All-Ohio teams Monday, honoring standout athletes from across the state for their performances during the 2024 season. Among those recognized were players from Malvern, Strasburg Franklin, Conotton Valley, and Hanoverton United, showcasing the talent of small-school football programs.
In Division VII, Rodney Smith of Malvern earned First-Team Offense honors as a wide receiver, highlighting his dynamic contributions to the Hornets’ aerial attack. His teammate, Jared Witherow, was named Second-Team Offense at quarterback, with Brandon Miller securing a spot on the offensive line. Drake Hutchison and Owen Ball of Malvern were recognized as Honorable Mention linebackers.
Luke Smith of Conotton Valley made First-Team Defense as a linebacker, while teammate Zach Putnam earned Second-Team Offense honors at quarterback. Brooks Bower was also named to the Second-Team Offense for his role as a wide receiver. Conotton Valley head coach Derek O’Hara shared the Division VII Coach of the Year title for leading the Rockets to an impressive season.
Kamden Wright was second team at the defensive back position for Conotton Valley and teammate Gavin Haney was honorable mention at linebacker.
In Division VI, Trent Ellyson of Hanoverton United was selected for the Second-Team Offense as an offensive lineman. Parker Newburn, also of Hanoverton United, received Honorable Mention for his play in the defensive backfield.
From Strasburg Franklin, Caden Dugan and Gage Moore earned Third-Team Defense accolades for their performances on the defensive line and at linebacker, respectively. Keizer Thomas and Ryan Becker were named Honorable Mention for their contributions as a running back and wide receiver.
The Division IV and V All-Ohio teams will be announced Tuesday, with Divisions II and III on Wednesday and Division I on Thursday.
