A man was arrested Monday night following a shooting in the parking lot of a business on W. Main Street, according to authorities.
Keyairis D. Thompson was taken into custody at a residence on Woodland Avenue after police identified him as the suspect in the incident. The shooting occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of W. Main Street, Alliance.
Investigators allege Thompson intentionally shot the victim twice with a firearm as the victim sat in a parked vehicle. The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the right forearm and right upper chest and was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
Thompson was arrested and booked at the Alliance City Jail before being transferred to the Stark County Jail. He has been charged with attempted murder and felonious assault and is scheduled to appear in Alliance Municipal Court on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 1 p.m.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
