The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a single-car crash that occurred late Saturday during a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle in the city’s northwest side.

The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fulton Road and Hoover Place, according to a statement from Lt. Kaitlyn Kowicki, commander of the Canton patrol post.

Troopers initially attempted to stop a stolen 2012 Hyundai Elantra for a traffic violation near Fulton Road and 10th Street NW. Instead of pulling over, the driver sped off, prompting a pursuit.

The chase ended when the vehicle struck a retaining wall, and the car’s five occupants fled on foot. Troopers apprehended three juveniles at or near the crash scene.

No injuries were reported by those taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
