A car stuck on train tracks with three young children inside led to the arrest of a Canton woman Sunday night, according to the Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded to the scene at approximately 10:23 p.m. near Meese Road NE and Scott Street NE in Nimishillen Township. Upon arrival, they discovered a 2000 Toyota Camry on the tracks with the driver, identified as Josaleta Buch, 33, of Canton, asleep and reportedly intoxicated. Three children were found unharmed in the back seat.

Authorities later learned the vehicle had been stolen earlier in the evening with the children inside. The railway was shut down by the train company while crews worked to remove the car from the tracks.

The children were safely reunited with their father at the scene. Buch was arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail on charges of vehicle theft and child endangerment. Stark County prosecutors will review the case for additional charges as the investigation continues.
