Two suspects are in custody following an aggravated robbery at the Buckle store at 4230 Belden Village Mall Circle NW on Thursday, Jan. 9.

Jackson Township Police responded to the incident at approximately 4:29 p.m. after a male and female suspect reportedly stole merchandise from the store and indicated they had a weapon when confronted by employees. The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.

Officers located the suspect vehicle near Everhard and Dressler Road NW and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle continued to the intersection of Everhard and I-77, where it stopped due to traffic. During the pursuit, a Jackson Township Police cruiser struck the rear bumper of the suspect vehicle, causing minor damage to a taillight. No injuries were reported.

Police recovered a black and silver knife believed to have been used during the robbery. Miriam Lorenzi, 52, of Cleveland, and Jose Sianez Ortiz, 33, of Olmsted Township, were arrested and charged with complicity to aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony.

Separately, at approximately 6:14 p.m., an unrelated crash occurred at the intersection of Everhard and Dressler Road NW, temporarily closing the roadway. Authorities confirmed that the crash was not connected to the robbery or the pursuit.

The investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
