Officers with the Alliance Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire at an apartment complex at 350 S. Arch Ave. around 7:40 a.m. Thursday.
Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect and a female victim on the fifth floor. The suspect was shot by officers during the response, according to Sgt. Christopher McCord.
Both the male suspect and the female victim succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation into the incident.
Four officers who were on scene at the time of the shooting will be placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with department policy.
Further details, including the identities of the deceased, will be released after the notification of next of kin.
