Private ambulance involved in crash on I-77 north; driver extricated with injuries

A crash involving a private ambulance and another vehicle occurred early Wednesday morning on Interstate 77 North near the 105N mile marker.

The Canton Fire Department was dispatched to the scene around 7:30 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found the ambulance’s sole occupant trapped. Emergency crews extricated the individual through the windshield.

The occupant sustained minor injuries and was transported to Aultman Hospital for treatment. No information about the other vehicle or its occupants was immediately available.

Traffic on I-77 North was briefly impacted as emergency responders worked to clear the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
