Federal agents, local police seek man wanted for Stark Co. shooting that injured woman

The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of J’shar Stinson, who is wanted by multiple law enforcement agencies on felony charges.

Stinson, 29, is wanted by the Canton Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service for felonious assault. He is also sought by the Stark County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated robbery.

Authorities say Stinson allegedly fired multiple rounds inside a business in the 1800 block of Maple Ave. NE in Canton on Jan. 25, 2025, striking a female victim.

Stinson is described as a Black male, standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 193 pounds. Officials believe he may be in the Canton or Youngstown areas.

Anyone with information on Stinson’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4WANTED or submit a tip online at www.usmarshals.gov/district/oh-n/index.html. Tipsters can remain anonymous, and a reward is available for information leading to his capture.
