A two-vehicle crash on State Route 39 in Tuscarawas County left one person seriously injured early Monday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:51 a.m. near milepost 8 in Dover Township. Authorities said a black 2010 Chevrolet HHR, traveling westbound on Township Road 384 (Red Hill Road), failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the path of an eastbound gray 2024 Western Star 49X.

The Western Star struck the Chevrolet, spinning it around before it hit the right-side trailer of the truck. Both vehicles partially traveled off the right side of the road, officials said.

The Chevrolet’s driver, Garrin Kingsbury, 31, of Uhrichsville, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital by Dover EMS. Troopers said Kingsbury was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Western Star’s driver, Thomas Rennie, 58, of Massillon, was wearing his seat belt and was not injured, authorities said.

Dover Fire Department, Dover EMS, the Ohio Department of Transportation, Rosenberry Towing, and Finlayson Towing assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
