Authorities are investigating after a 42-year-old Massillon man was shot multiple times early Sunday before being transported to a hospital by private vehicle.

According to a police report obtained by Jordan Miller News, two men drove the victim to Aultman Hospital at 5:57 a.m., reporting that they found him on the roadside in the 2800 block of Eighth Street NE in Canton Township. The man suffered gunshot wounds to his arms, legs, and groin. His condition was not immediately available.

Canton police later determined that the shooting occurred within city limits, Lt. Dennis Garren said. The victim was struck four or five times.

Evidence was recovered outside the City Limits bar in Canton, where investigators found four bullet casings, a live round, and a small pool of blood near the building’s front. A bloody shoe was also discovered partially in the roadway near the right side of the structure.

No arrests have been made as police continue to investigate. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Canton police.
