A Canton woman died Monday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on State Route 172, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 3:11 p.m. near Perry Drive when a 1994 Chevrolet Geo Metro, traveling eastbound, failed to yield while making a left turn, investigators said. The vehicle was struck by a westbound 2019 Chrysler Pacifica.

The driver of the Geo Metro, identified as 54-year-old Tracy Broyles of Canton, was transported to Aultman Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. A 26-year-old passenger in her vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

The Pacifica’s driver, a 33-year-old woman from Franklin, and two children were taken to Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

State troopers said alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
