A Chardon man accused of posing as an Amazon delivery driver to gain access to a home and commit armed robbery in Alliance has been arrested, police said.
Steven S. Dackiewicz, 60, of 487 Crocker Blvd., was taken into custody Thursday morning in Chardon on a warrant for first-degree felony aggravated robbery, according to the Alliance Police Department.
Detectives say the robbery occurred on Dec. 7, 2024, at a residence in the 2300 block of South Linden Avenue. Dackiewicz is alleged to have dressed as a uniformed Amazon delivery driver, holding a fake package, to gain entry into the victims’ home. Once inside, he reportedly brandished a pistol and demanded cash before fleeing the scene.
Following an investigation led by Detective William Johnson, authorities secured an arrest warrant for Dackiewicz, who was located and apprehended by Alliance police detectives.
Authorities noted that Dackiewicz has no affiliation with Amazon.
Further details on charges and court proceedings were not immediately available.
